An Indiana farmer-leader with the United Soybean Board says a new tool could help farmers navigate the challenging ag economy.

Don Wyss says the Soy Farmer Support Hub connects available field tools with financial support.

“All resources are available at no cost,” he says. “These are all funded through the Soy Checkoff to ensure that farmers know that they have a lot of support out there. There are resources to assist as we deal with the stressful times of tight margins and the uncertainties in the farm economy.”

He tells Brownfield the site is part of a larger initiative to help farmers access research-based information to help overcome production challenges.

“It also has a suggestion box to give farmers a direct line to bring additional value to soybean farmers going forward,” he says. “That way, the hub can continue to be flexible in what it brings forward with additional resources.”

Wyss says the checkoff is also recognizing the importance of farmer mental health with the ongoing development of additional materials.
