NIMAXXA a new biological seed treatment for SCN control
A new tool for controlling soybean cyst nematode will be available to growers this year.
Steve Sopher with crop protection company UPL says NIMAXXA will be the only triple-strain bionematicide on the market.
“It colonizes roots, it kills nematodes, it inhibits egg hatch, and the third component is a growth promoter that actually increases the efficiency of photosynthesis in the plant.”
He tells Brownfield the biological seed treatment delivers a one-two punch early in the growing season.
“So as the corn or soybean plant is germinating and starting to send out roots, so does one of the bacillus bacteria from NIMAXXA also then germinates and starts to grow right along with that root.”
Sopher says NIMAXXA is also labeled for controlling nematodes in corn, and has no known mixing issues with current seed treatment products.
