Nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus, and potassium supplies more stable
The president and CEO of a crop nutrient supplier says the availability of some fertility products has improved since the Middle East conflict began.
Nick Bancroft with AgroLiquid tells Brownfield, “We’re watching nitrogen. We’re watching sulfur, phosphorous and potassium. (They) look to be a little bit more stable.
But, he says, there is likely some risk moving forward. “And, in a cycle where volatility is in front of us and increase prices look like a potential into the spring, having that product on the farm or booked with a retailer is the best way to control costs.”
Bancroft says farmers can also improve expenses by relying on soil testing and a targeted approach to applying nutrients to maximize return on investment.
