North central Iowa farmer reports smooth spring and healthy crops

A north-central Iowa farmer is finishing up herbicide applications.

Caleb Renner of Klemme says fieldwork has progressed rapidly so far.

“Planting went really, really well. We got done, I want to say just the beginning of May, which I don’t remember the last time we’ve gotten done that early.”

He tells Brownfield there’s less than 70 acres left to spray.

“So not only did we finish planting in record time, we’re going to finish spraying post here in a really, really decent good time.”

Renner says side-dressing corn is up next and crops look good overall.
