North Iowa farmer says soybeans are looking good ‘but so is the waterhemp’
A north Iowa farmer says her soybeans look similar to this time a year ago.
April Hemmes of Hampton tells Brownfield.
“It’s kind of like last year, I thought they were so short last year and had the best beans I’ve ever had. So they’re looking pretty good, but so is the waterhemp.”
She says the weed is difficult to control.
“I tried to spray my end rows, you know my edge of fields early, and now they’re kind of sneaking back through. So I’m going to go out and hit them with one more shot and then let it go for the year. But beans are looking good.”
Hemmes says rains have been timely so far this summer.
