Northeast Iowa farmer weathers extremes

A northeast Iowa farmer says weather conditions have gone from too dry to too wet.

Tom Feldman grows corn and soybeans near Cresco.

“Seems like one extreme to the next, going from a drought last year basically into a flood this year. But we got every acre in and stuff is looking good, a lot of potential for the year.”

He tells Brownfield post-emergence herbicide is being applied to corn.

“Our corn is probably right around that four-leaf stage, so pretty happy with where we stand.”

Feldman says he has not had to replant but a few farmers in his area have.
