Northeast Nebraska farmer pleased with harvest results
A northeast Nebraska farmer says she’s been pleased with harvest results.
Debbie Borg tells Brownfield…
“We had such timely rains up until August and so it was just a lot of fun because we were getting dry and it rained and things were looking really good.”
She says yields have been good and corn and soybeans have been dry.
“The soybeans were all between probably 9 and 10 percent moisture and the corn has been pretty much 14,” she says. “We’ve had a couple pockets of 18 percent but generally speaking everything’s been under 15.”
Borg says this year was better than the previous two growing seasons.
“I tell people it’s not the best we’ve ever had but we’re so grateful and thankful for what we do have. Yields are really good,” she says.
Borg says they had to pause harvest briefly because of fire danger but expects to wrap up by mid-week.
