Novak to join CropLife America
Chris Novak, who is currently serving as the CEO of the National Corn Growers Association, has been named the new CEO of CropLife America.
Novak will begin the new role on August 20 and is replacing longtime CEO Jay Vroom, who announced his retirement last fall.
CropLife America board chair Jim Blome says Novak brings a wealth of agriculture trade association and industry experience to the role.
In a news release, Novak said he is grateful for the opportunity and that farmers and food consumers depend on the kind of innovation that CropLife America members bring to ag production.
Novak became NCGA’s CEO in 2014. He has also served as CEO of the National Pork Board, executive director of the Indiana Soybean Alliance, science communications manager with Syngenta, and special assistant to the CEO of the American Soybean Association.
CropLife America is a national trade association representing companies that develop, produce, and market crop protection products.
Novak is only the fifth person in the group’s 85-year history to lead the staff.
