Novonesis highlights bacteria’s role in silage inoculants, livestock probiotics at World Dairy Expo

Novonesis technical services manager Ryan Royer says bacteria is central to conversations the bio-solutions company is having with dairy farmers at World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin this week.

“We’re talking about both our silage inoculants and livestock probiotics, so we’re kind of talking bacteria. That’s what is in both of those products, and Novonesis is an industry leader in both silage inoculants and livestock probiotics.”

With silage inoculants, he tells Brownfield producers want a quick fermentation.

“We want to get that pile of forage, whether it’s haylage, grass silage, corn silage, we want to get that terminal pH as fast as we can. That’s the most efficient way to do that.”

From the Novonesis livestock probiotic portfolio, Royer says the mantra is ‘in every cow every day.’

“Because we need that probiotic in her diet, in her gut, working because we never know when those challenges are going to spike up.”
