October soybean crush, corn for ethanol numbers rise on month, year
The USDA says October 2025 soybean crush and corn for ethanol numbers were strong.
Those were both linked to processors taking advantage of new crop supplies, while enjoying good margins and trying to meet expected demand.
The soybean crush was a record 237 million bushels, rising 32 million from September and 21 million from October 2024, but that large crush kept soybean meal and oil stocks above year ago levels.
476.403 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production, an increase of 9% on the month and 3% on the year, with production of distillers dried grains with solubles at 1,927,920 million tons, up 13% from the month before and 3% from this time last year.
The USDA’s updated soybean crush and corn for ethanol use projections for the current marketing year are out January 12th.
