OFBF holds Trends and Issues Conf.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) held their Trends and Issues Conference on Thursday, March 27.
Before breaking into their nine Advisory Team meetings the conference heard from Terry Fleck with the Center for Food Integrity talking about agriculture’s social license to operate, and from Matt Bechdol of GeoSilos talking about privacy issues surrounding Big Data.
“Those are things that every farmer needs to think about, how do we get them to think about that consumer trust, how do we effect that and then what about data, is that my data, or who’s data is that and Matt did a great job of working us through that,” said Ohio Farm Bureau President Steve Hirsch of Ross County. “Now we need them to connect that to their commodity team and then is there policy that we need to have or is there something we need to start thinking about as an organization.”
