Ohio Christmas trees spreading holiday spirit overseas
Ohio Christmas trees are headed to U.S. troops stationed in Kuwait as part of Operation Evergreen.
Ohio Director of Agriculture Brian Baldridge tells Brownfield it’s a tradition that’s spanned nearly 30 years.
“The collaboration between the Ohio Department of Agriculture, which we take care of the regulatory aspect of Christmas trees and inspecting those before they would go overseas, and then the private sector being all those businesses that make up the Ohio Christmas Tree Association,” he says.
Growers from across the state donated 75 trees this year which are being shipped with support from UPS.
