Ohio Corn and Wheat focused on nationwide E15 in the lame duck
The executive director of the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association wants Congress to pass the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act in the lame duck.
Tadd Nicholson tells Brownfield…
“E15 is so bipartisan with a broad coalition of support that we hope and believe that it can be placed into a vehicle that’s moving during lame duck,” he says.
Nicholson and Chris Zeigler, executive director of the American Petroleum Institute Ohio wrote a joint op-ed prior to the election, urging members of Congress to get the legislation passed.
He says it would benefit Ohio corn growers and consumers.
“If you’re a fuel retailer and you’re considering adding Unleaded 88 or E15 to your fuel mix and you want to add that to your customers, you might be reluctant to do that if there’s not certainty that you can sell it all year long,” he says.
Nicholson says they hope to get it passed during the lame duck session and will work on additional ag issues once the new Congress is seated.
