Ohio leaders pushing E-15 expansion
The executive director of Ohio Corn and Wheat says E-15 remains a critical component of profitability.
Tadd Nicholson tells Brownfield, “The farm economy is really low right now and farmers are concerned. They’re looking at the books coming into this crop that they’re about ready to plant. Something from the federal government that would give them hope of new demand, could really help that price would be a very positive thing.”
He says Ohio’s Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General have written letters to Congress in an effort to grow the market.
“That type of new demand is real market moving demand,” he says. “From a corn price standpoint, we’re expecting this new demand to help elevate the price of corn. The whole point of increasing demand is so that we can help get that price up.”
Nicholson says strengthening corn demand provides another opportunity for long-term market viability.
