More than one million chickens die in Indiana fire

The president of Midwest Poultry Services says more than 1 million chickens died in a fire that destroyed five layer buildings at a northern Indiana egg-producing facility Monday night.

Bob Krouse says they plan to rebuild the Hi-Grade Egg Producers facility in North Manchester. There are still 1.5 million chickens on the farm.

He tells Brownfield crews from more than 25 volunteer fire departments helped stop the fire.

No people were injured in the fire.
