Optimistic outlook for U.S. ethanol exports
A director for the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board says he sees a favorable outlook for U.S. ethanol exports.
Shane Goplin says he expects momentum from 2024 to continue through 2025. “We have to increase our production. Well, we have to find a home for that too. There’s huge opportunities coming out there.”
2024 U.S. ethanol exports were already record large at the end of November and December data pushed the total to 1.91 billion gallons.
Speaking to Brownfield at the 2025 Commodity Classic in Denver, Colorado, he said Japan could become an important market for biofuels. “They’ve got big envisions for both ethanol and the sustainable aviation fuel of increasing that. Hopefully we can continue building that relationship.”
Goplin says it will also be important to maintain key markets in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
