Outlook chair “eagerly awaiting” new NASS numbers
This month’s USDA production and supply and demand reports will feature revised crop acreage data for corn and soybeans.
Mark Jekanowski is the Acting World Agricultural Outlook Board Chairman, “Just like everyone out in the trade we’re eagerly awaiting the new NASS numbers. That’s going to heavily drive our outlook for the domestic markets, especially corn and soybeans.”
He says they rely on the USDA’s NASS to collect the data for the re-survey, “We take those numbers, we view them as the gold standard. We use them in our supply and demand estimates for the U.S.”
The average crop production and supply and demand reports are out Monday.
