Parson says China trade war is for the greater good
Missouri Governor Mike Parson, a farmer, says most of his fellow Missouri farmers are sticking with Trump on his tough stance with China. As a farmer, he says, it’s tough right now.
Parson said at the AgriPulse Ag Outlook Forum in Kansas City that he would love for the trade war to end tomorrow but farmers deserve a level playing field.
“The farmers in this state have stayed together. They have hung together to say ‘look, we think this is a greater good.’ And if you truly, truly think about it – when I say they think it’s the greater good, they think it’s the greater good for the next generations.”
Parson said he talked with a Missouri manufacturer who opened a plant in China and three years later the Chinese plant supervisor stole his patents and put him out of business. Parson says “they don’t care about patents in China.”
If your a farmer and you are sticking with President Trump, you either farm for a hobby or as a NON-PROFIT. Its that simple, no other reason to stick with him. The U.S. Farmer is paying 100% of the bill for the trade war. Can you name any other industry that is more affected. When farmer sells his or her product. Cheapest in 14 years. When a farmer buys anything, tractor, grain bin, shed/shop, fertilizer, chemicals or seed, highest prices in years. Farmers are taking the brunt on both sides of the spectrum, buying and selling. So if your sticking with Trump, good luck with your hobby or non-profit.
