Perdue says MFP2 well accepted, don’t plan for MFP3

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says overall the second market facilitation program trade aid package has been well accepted.

“Overwhelmingly, the comments we’ve heard on the sign-up have been positive.”

Perdue is advising farmers not to plan for another MFP in 2020.

“It is not something we want to become addicted to. It was a measure that President Trump felt was necessary.”

But, Perdue says he recalls giving farmers the same advice for 2019 and events over the next few months will help determine if a third MFP is needed.
