Potash seen as best fertilizer value for farmers heading into 2026
The vice president of fertilizer with Stone X Group says potash is likely the best fertilizer buy for farmers heading into 2026.
Josh Linville tells Brownfield, “Potash is probably going to continue to be one of the standouts as far as a good value to farmers.” He says, “Now, could prices be lower? Yeah, it sure wouldn’t hurt anybody’s feelings, but when you look at where the price is versus grain values and things like that, potash is in a great spot.”
He says the addition of potash to the Critical Minerals List late in 2025 should bring added stability.
“We’ve seen it on the potash market.” He says, “We’re seeing a few mines now being discussed with expectations that these might actually become reality. It can help for potash where there are reserves out there.”
Linville says potash is the only fertilizer priced in a normal range as the new year begins.
