Purdue to host beef showcase and production sale

A tour of the Purdue Beef Unit followed by a production sale will take place Saturday, April 25 at the Purdue University Animal Science Research and Education Centerat West Lafayette.

The tour of the beef unit will begin at 9:30 a.m.

"During the tour, beef producers will learn about research conducted at the unit and how it is applicable to their farm," said Allen Bridges, Purdue Extensionreproductive physiologist.

At 2 p.m. the Purdue Block and Bridle Club will conduct the production sale featuring 50 cow/calf pairs.

"The calves are out of some of the best sires in the industry and these pairs would make a great addition to anyherd," Bridges said.
