Questions arising over dicamba use in ‘25

The outreach agronomist with the Illinois Soybean Association says she’s fielding numerous questions around dicamba usage for the upcoming growing season.

Stephanie Porter says farmers need to be aware of restrictions.

“Tavium, Engenia, and XtindiMax, cannot be used over the top of soybeans because of the 2024 court ruling,” she says.

She tells Brownfield those products are also restricted from use as a burndown.

“There are other labeled dicamba products that can still be used.”  She says, “Another common question is ‘Can I still use dicamba in corn?’  Yes, you can.”

Porter says farmers should be sure to read and follow all label directions when applying any herbicide.
