Record corn yields reported in parts of Minnesota as harvest nears completion
An extension corn agronomist says it’s been a good harvest in Minnesota.
Jeff Coulter with the University of Minnesota tells Brownfield the weather has been cooperative for farmers.
“We haven’t had too many rainout days, so we’ve been able to be in the field for most of the fall. So things have progressed very nicely, and the yields are pretty good.”
He says corn yields in most areas of the state are in the low 200’s.
“And there’s some situations where farmers are getting record yields in the 230 to 250 range.”
Coulter says most farmers are wrapping up with harvest and there should be plenty of time to get fall fieldwork done.
