Record membership for South Dakota FFA
South Dakota FFA Association membership is at record levels with more than 5,400 members.
State FFA President Ella Stiefvater from southeastern South Dakota attributes the growth to great FFA programs.
“I think it’s about ag teachers being able to help students find their niche and passion to thrive in the FFA.”
Six FFA chapters were added across the state in the last year: Custer, Langford, Lead-Deadwood, Leola, Sioux Falls CTE Academy and Tea Area.
State FFA Reporter Sidney Peterson from western South Dakota tells Brownfield she plans to contribute to that growth by teaching agriculture after graduating from South Dakota State University.
“I’ll keep it growing strong in our great state.”
The new FFA chapters and record membership will be recognized at the South Dakota FFA Convention in Brookings this week.
