Renewed efforts to bring ag license plate to Minnesota
The director of the Minnesota FFA Foundation says there’s progress in bringing a specialized agricultural license plate to Minnesota.
Val Aarsvold tells Brownfield bills have been introduced in both the House and Senate after similar efforts fell short in the legislature a year ago.
“On the House side, we’ve gone through a couple committees and continue our path, which is a positive. And we appreciate all the representatives who are supportive of that.”
On the Senate side, she says the Transportation Committee has not set up a hearing to discuss the ag license plate legislation.
“We feel very passionate that Minnesotans are willing to support a specialized agriculture license plate because it would provide much-needed funds to FFA and 4-H programs in our state.”
Aarsvold says FFA and 4H members would submit designs that capture Minnesota’s agriculture and its beauty if the ag license plate becomes law.
