Rep. Hinson praises House-passed reconciliation package
One lawmaker says the House-passed reconciliation package will help support farmers.
U.S. Congresswoman Ashley Hinson says a provision was left out of the budget bill that would have given the federal government control of pipelines.
“My stance is the same. It always has been. I am always leery of eminent domain. I want to ensure that landowners rights are protected.”
In a press call Friday, the Iowa Republican said there was another pipeline measure in the package that she supported.
“What I do think is important about the bill is it did include some permitting reform for natural gas. President Trump has been very clear that he wants to make sure we are energy dominant. I think those are provisions that everybody could build consensus on and get behind.”
U.S. Senate Ag Committee Chairman John Boozman, a Republican from Arkansas, recently said he’s optimistic the Senate can pass the bill before the August recess.
