RFA: ethanol, DDGS exports up on month

U.S. ethanol exports moved higher in March.

The Renewable Fuels Association says March ethanol exports were a 23-month high at 159.3 gallons, an increase of 15% from February.

Canada has maintained its top spot for three years in a row, followed by India, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.

Brazil’s tariffs have now kept U.S. ethanol out of that market for nearly two years, but that nation did ship 1.1 million gallons of ethanol to the U.S. in March, the first recorded imports since November 2023.

U.S. exports of dried distillers grains with solubles rose 7% on the month to 1.06 million tons, mainly to Mexico, South Korea, and Turkey.

For the first quarter of 2024, U.S. ethanol exports are 448.3 million gallons, 27% ahead of 2023, with D-D-G-S exports at 2.94 million tons, 21% faster than last year.
