Rising healthcare more and more a burden on Minnesota farmers
The president of Minnesota Farmers Union is frustrated because elected officials aren’t doing enough to bring healthcare costs down.
Gary Wertish accuses the state and federal government of playing politics at the expense of many.
“We don’t fix it unless we work together, and that’s the whole issue. Healthcare costs have been rising even before Obamacare. Obamacare tried to do some things, was it done right? No, maybe not. But you’ve got to put the politics aside, sit together, and work on what’s best for the people and not worry about what’s working just to keep me elected.”
He tells Brownfield some Minnesota farmers are spending as much as $45,000 dollars a year on healthcare.
