Robert Easter joins 2Blades Foundation
Former University of Illinois President Robert Easter is joining The 2Blades Foundation’s Sustainability Council.
Easter said he was impressed by the foundation’s use of genetic improvement to produce higher crop yields and disease resistance and is ready to help in any way he can.
2Blades President Diana Horvath said Easter’s background in agriculture as an academic and farmer will be a valuable addition to the foundation.
“He understands what we do and how we fit into efforts to feed the additional 2 billion people who will live on the earth by the year 2050,” Horvath said.
Easter served on the Board for International Food and Agricultural Development, appointed by President George W. Bush, chairing the board in 2007 and served as the University of Illinois President from 2012 to 2015.
The 2Blades Foundation is a charitable organization based in Evanston, Illinois that develops and manages programs that address unsolved crop disease problems.
