Rollins says MAHA focused on increasing access to healthy food

The Secretary of Agriculture says farmers are part of the solution as the Make America Healthy Again Commission is focused on increasing access to healthy foods.

Brooke Rollins says the U.S. is currently facing a health crisis.

“3 or 4 out of 5 kids are either diabetic or pre-diabetic,” she says. “We are doing everything possible to support our incredible farmers that are out there and looking at how to potentially put forward better solutions for the American people.

The Secretary says the USDA continues to look for ways to support farmers and create better food options for consumers. 

“There is a real effort underway to not just support our farmers that are out there and move more locally sourced food into the community, but also to ensure that what we are feeding to our food banks and into our schools is healthy food,” she says.

Rollins says she will continue to work with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on increasing access to healthy food options for families.
