Rollins touts ethanol exports, E15 during House Ag Committee hearing

Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins says the U.S. ethanol industry is heading in the right direction.

“This year we’re going to have ethanol exports up 20% and corn exports up 22%,” Rollins said. “The world is opening up to these great products that our American farmers are producing.”

Testifying before the U.S. House Ag Committee on Thursday, Rollins said House passage of year-round E15 legislation was a significant milestone.

“What I learned and have since become a huge cheerleader, advocate, and supporter for is the importance of E15,” Rollins said, “and what that will do to support our farmers and to support that domestic market.”

Republican Congressman Randy Feenstra of Iowa stated expanded E15 access is win-win for farmers and consumers.

“This is dramatically going to help at the fuel pump,” Feenstra said.

E15 now awaits action in the U.S. Senate. Arkansas Republican John Boozman, chairman of the Senate Ag Committee, recently told Brownfield that a standalone E15 bill has enough support to pass the Senate.
