SD corn and soybean conditions improve
Despite the heavy rains and flooding in eastern South Dakota, corn and soybean conditions improved slightly for the whole state the final week in June.
USDA says the corn conditions are rated 73% good to excellent. Soybean conditions are rated 73% good to excellent with 3% of the crop blooming, behind the average for this time of the year.
Winter wheat conditions are rated 76% good to excellent with most of the crop headed. Spring wheat is 66% headed with conditions rated 81% good to excellent.
Sorghum conditions are rated 84% good to excellent with 8% of the crop headed. Sunflower conditions are rated 86% good to excellent with 79% of the crop emerged.
