SD soybean harvest 98% complete, corn harvest at 48%

Soybean harvest is near completion and corn harvest is getting closer to halfway complete in South Dakota.

USDA says 90% of the state’s soybeans are harvested, ahead of average. Corn harvest is 48% complete, behind last year’s pace, but near the five-year average.

Sorghum harvest is 65% complete and sunflower harvest is 23% complete, near average.

Winter wheat planting is 94% complete with 69% of the crop emerged and conditions rated 55% good to excellent.

Pasture and rangeland conditions are 59% good to excellent.
