Security breach should be wakeup call

In the digital world we live in there are security risks.

A form of that risk became reality with the report of a security breach affecting one of Precision Planting’s data servers.

Matt Bechdol, President of GeoSilos isn’t surprised it happened.

“It is cause for alarm and it is a wakeup call for all firms out there that we need to be taking security very seriously.”

Bechdol says that as we move forward with data collection, companies will have to do a better job of protecting that information.

“Companies cannot allow these things to happen, so they are going to do everything they can to try and prevent them,” said Bechdol.

When working with data collection companies, Matt Bechdol says there’s nothing wrong with asking companies about their security.
