Senator Todd Young: There needs to be clarity in trade conversations

U.S. Senator Todd Young says farmers are concerned about the long-term impacts of trade tensions with China.
“This is why it’s really important, as President Trump tries to crack down on unfair practices that we bring some clarity to exactly what outcome is desired,” he says.
The Indiana Republican tells Brownfield trade disruptions with China could cause farmers to lose key market access.
“It’s also going to be important for the President to ensure that we are doing everything we can to open up these new markets,” he says. “Some of these will be established through commercial relations, but there is a role for our diplomats. There is a role for the administration to open up foreign markets.”
Young says strengthening international trade relationships will help the U.S. continue to fight against China’s unfair trade practices.

Farmers are screwed with the tariffs . It’s hard to believe you are serious on this issue when you allow Trump to do whatever he pleases. Show some backbone.
american business cannot support a higier tarrif. My husband buys astronimacal supplies from a dealer in Norman, OK. that man has to buy almost all of his product from china. Bill uses telescopes, lenses, filters, astro photo cameras all from him or some other store in the US. he takes pictures of nebulas, like the Web space telescope pictures. That one dealer had a shipment of stock for his place of business in Oklahoma. That one shipment of stock cost him $2,000.00 for tarrif.. He ate that one, but told my husband that the next step is raise prices. He said to raise the prices enouth to cover the tarrif may put him out of business!!! There is no place to buy these astronimacal products in the US. Please STOP THE TARRIFS!!!????
How about January 6, 2021. Pressuring Mike Pence to overthrow an electoral college vote, followed by an hour of false election fraud claims, and still lying about an election. Why is this not an issue.
Market fluctuations due to uncoordinated actions, eroding the balance of power between the branches of our government.
How is this not a threat to 250 years of American tradition?
This is absolutely ridiculous! You say you are for farmers and Hoosiers, but you let Trump make these risky decisions with no pushback. Telling already strapped farmers that they must “just find somewhere else to sell their goods to” is wrong. You are not helping by sitting back and letting Trump ruin our country. Senator Young, you are making Indiana worse, and that will be your legacy.
A trade deficit isn’t inherently a bad thing. It just means that we buy more from a country than we sell to them. Indiana workers aren’t going to work in sweatshops, so we can pay $20 for a shirt or $40 for pants. It makes sense for us to buy some things instead of making them here. AND if we bring manufacturing here, most likely it will be automated and won’t even bring many jobs.
RFK Jr is not a Scientist, and he doesn’t believe Scientists! This is outrageously disheartening.
