Show pig health and management clinics
New in Ohio this year will be a series of four “Show pig health and management” clinics to help junior exhibitors and their families learn more about caring for their swine projects. Dale Ricker, Extension swine program specialist at Ohio State says the clinics will cover a range of topics, from managing the health and well-being of your pigs around exhibitions, to feeding your show pig for exhibition and breeding.
“Addressing pig structure and lameness is one of the topics that I’ll be working with Dr. Todd Price on,” said Ricker. “And then strategies to address swine influenza virus which became somewhat of an issue last summer through the show season.”
