Small grains harvest continues in Minnesota.

USDA’s latest weekly crop update says 74 percent of oats, 54% of spring wheat, and 57% of barley is harvested.

The second cutting of alfalfa hay reached 94% complete.

Corn is 5% mature, 4% ahead of average; while only 19% is dented, which is 11% behind.  Sixty percent of the crop is in good to excellent condition.

Corn for silage harvest is six percent done.

Soybeans setting pods reached 89%, which is 6% behind the five-year average.  Sixty three percent are in good to excellent shape.

And sugarbeet harvest reached 3% complete.
