Some changes, some familiarity for Wisconsin Soybean program
The Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board has a new marketing and communications partner who is familiar with the board’s goals.
Doug Monson tells Brownfield he worked with the Wisconsin group while at Ag Management Solutions, but he left to join Forward Minded Media. “They asked me to come on board and create an ag department, which meant that I was leaving Wisconsin Soybean, but only temporarily because they ended up hiring me through my new company and now we’re kind of just back to business as usual.”
Monson says he and Kelsey Barchenger are continuing their work for the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board through the new company. “She’s been doing the public relations and media relations for Wisconsin for the past year, and she’ll continue in that role as Director of Media Relations.”
Monson says he expects more changes for the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board soon. “The long-term intention of the Wisconsin Soybean Program was always to have their own staff and have their own executive director, and they have really been working hard behind the scenes to make all of that happen. They are going to have some exciting news to come out in the near future. I know that the program is in good hands.”
Monson has been assisting the Wisconsin soybean program since shortly after the death of long-time Wisconsin Soybean Association Executive Director Robert Karls in 2022.
