South Carolina native appointedUSDA Economic Development Director
A Manning, South Carolina native has been appointed by Ag Secretary Vilsack to be the USDA director of Economic and CommunityDevelopment. Stacey Brayboy has 13 years experience in various levels of government. She served on the staffs of former Senator Fritz Hollings and Congressman James Clyburn. She’s a graduate of Francis Marion University in Florence and holds a master’s of public administration from Clark AtlantaUniversity in Georgia. Brayboy was Governor Tim Kain’s appointee as deputy director of the Virginia council on Human Rights before joining the Obama presidential campaign where she served as state director of South Carolina and Virginia during the primary and state director in Indiana and Virginiaduring the general election.
