South Dakota crops improve
In South Dakota, USDA says all crop condition ratings improved the first week of August.
Corn is rated 73% good to excellent with 5% of the corn dented, in-line with the average. Soybeans are now rated 72% good to excellent with 59% of the state’s soybeans setting pods, still behind last year’s pace and the average.
Winter wheat harvest is 95% complete, with spring wheat harvest 54% complete. Both slightly ahead of average. Spring wheat condition is rated 80% good to excellent.
USDA says sorghum conditions are rated 70% good to excellent with 5% of the crop coloring.
