South Dakota winter wheat, soil moisture improve

What a difference a year makes.

The USDA says soil moisture levels in South Dakota are well above a year ago thanks to a recent shift in weather, which is aiding the winter wheat crop.

54% of winter wheat in South Dakota is rated good to excellent, compared to 38% this time last year.

The USDA’s weekly national crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
