The uses of soy will be on display at this year’s Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.
Iowa farmer Jeff Frank serves as treasurer for the Iowa Soybean Association’s Board of Directors. He tells Brownfield attendees will be able to walk on soy-based asphalt at the show grounds, and ISA has sponsored enhancements to its soy-based asphalt project from 2022.
“It’s using more of the ground up asphalt in the project to make it last 10-to-15 years longer,” he said.
The updated project includes a 42,000 square foot pavement pad to highlight farmers’ checkoff investment in soy-based products.
Frank says the asphalt will help improve the visitor experience and showcase the power of soy-based products. “It’s a lot easier to walk on asphalt than the gravel roads that are there.”
