Spray drones looking to dominate ag tech industry

The Light Robotics Manager at Beck’s Hybrids says farmers can increase productivity on their operations by using advanced drone technology.

Jim Love says there are a lot of opportunities for drone use, especially because it can get to places other sprayers can’t.

“The drone technology, especially spray drones right now, look like they’re probably going to dominate the secondary application business when you can’t get a ground machine in,” he says.

He tells Brownfield it starts with education.

“We want to make sure that they understand what’s going to happen when you take that home and try to use it on your farming operation and so trying to show them that, show them the economics of it so that they know how to operate it as well as we’re trying to help them understand what the rules and regulations,” he says.

Love says as drone technology becomes more advanced, growers will be able to better tackle in-field challenges.

Brownfield interviewed Love during day one of Becknology Days.
