State directors have concerns about EPA’s herbicide strategy

Ensuring farmers have access to herbicides is a top priority for state directors of agriculture.

Missouri Ag Director Chris Chinn says there are concerns with EPA’s herbicide strategy.

“We have a lot of concerns about how the farming community is going to be able to comply with some of the things as written, and so it it’s one of those things that I’m hoping will emerge and improve as we go forward,” she says.

She tells Brownfield…

“We want to make sure that our farmers are able to afford to implement the changes at a time that works best for their operation, but we also want to make sure that we’re not being so restrictive that farmers lose land,” she says.

Brownfield interviewed Chinn at the 2024 NASDA Annual Meeting.
