Tackling African Swine Fever

Alltech has recently announced a partnership with Cornerstone, a subsidiary of Pipestone Veterinary Services, to ramp up their efforts in the fight against African Swine Fever.  

Alltech CEO Mark Lyons says they’re building upon the research that Cornerstone has already done.  “We’ve taken those technologies and been able to reformulate them and update them,” he says.  “ I’m pretty optimistic about the potential there.”

But, he says there are still some hurdles to be cleared and the biggest of those is regulatory.  “Can we get these products to market as soo as possible so we can make that impact we need to have,” he says.  “That’s something that I think across animal health and human health is often the challenge.”

He says once approved, they’ll strategically launch new products in key markets like China, Russia, Southeast Asia, and the US.
