Taste From Indiana Farms draws crowds during 2026 state fair

Indiana Farm Bureau’s Taste From Indiana Farms is an opportunity to connect fairgoers to the state’s agricultural industry.

Mindy Orschell with the Women’s Leadership Committee says the annual exhibit allows consumers to sample products that local farmers produce. 

“We love educating fairgoers about where their food comes from,” she says. “It’s so interesting to see the lightbulb go off when they understand that chicken sausage comes from northern Indiana. We just want them to understand that their food is produced locally.”

She tells Brownfield each station highlighted a different sector of agriculture.

“We have representatives on the committee in all districts throughout the state,” she says. “We try to rotate different commodities each year based on what’s popular in each county.”

This year’s exhibit featured pumpkin, soybeans, blueberries, oats, dairy, lamb, popcorn, and chicken. Taste From Indiana Farms is located in the Fall Creek Pavilion and was open until August 16th.

The 2026 Indiana State Fair runs through August 23rd.
