Tennessee crops: 98% corn, 85% soybeans harvested
Most of Tennessee received some rainfall this past week, but more is needed. The dry fall has accelerated the harvest pace.
Harvest is 98 percent complete for corn, 85 percent complete for soybeans, and cotton is 78 percent harvested.
Winter wheat is 69 percent planted, and 41 percent emerged, with 63 percent rated good to excellent.
Pasture conditions have continued to decline as much of the state remains in abnormally dry to extreme drought conditions. Just 13 percent of pastures are rated good, while 86 percent are called fair to very poor.
Topsoil moisture is 49 percent adequate and 1 percent surplus and subsoil moisture is 46 percent adequate and 1 percent surplus.
