Tennessee harvests ahead of average

Rains from southern hurricanes finally reached many parts of Tennessee.

USDA says corn condition is rated 45 percent good to excellent with 97 percent dented, 85 percent mature, and 36 percent harvested.

Cotton in the state has 67 percent of bolls opening.  USDA says the crop is rated 47 percent good to excellent.

Soybeans are 58 percent dropping leaves and 22 percent harvested. The crop’s condition is rated 45 percent good to excellent.

Tobacco plants are 63 percent cut.

Pastures are rated 15 percent good to excellent.
