Tennessee soybeans starting harvest

Tennessee fields are continuing to dry out and push crop development.

USDA says corn condition is rated 45 percent good to excellent with 97 percent in the dough stage, 93 percent dented, 76 percent mature, and 31 percent harvested.

Cotton in the state has 57 percent of bolls opening.  USDA says the crop is rated 44 percent good to excellent.

Soybeans are 97 percent setting pods, 46 percent dropping leaves, and 11 percent harvested. The crop’s condition is rated 45 percent good to excellent.

Tobacco plants are 54 percent cut with 59 percent rated good to excellent.

Pastures are rated 16 percent good to excellent.
