Three USDA under secretaries confirmed
The U.S. Senate has confirmed three undersecretaries at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
That includes the Under Secretary of Marketing and Regulatory Programs, Dudley Hoskins, and Dr. Scott Hutchins as the Under Secretary of Agriculture for Research, Education and Economics. Richard Fordyce, a farmer from Missouri, has also been confirmed as the Under Secretary of Farm Production and Conservation.
Senate Ag Committee Chairman John Boozman says filling the roles is key to carrying out President Trump’s agenda for rural America.
Missouri Ag Director Chris Chinn tells Brownfield it’s good to have farmers, like Fordyce, leading at the USDA.
“Richard is a farmer himself. He understands the challenges corn, soybeans, cotton and rice growers are all experiencing right now.”
The under secretaries still need to be sworn in at the USDA.
